David Green

Applied Sustainability
BASF Construction Chemicals

David Green is responsible for the management, development and implementation of various strategic and applied sustainability initiatives for BASF Construction Chemicals Admixture Systems Group. In this role, David leads the application of sustainable construction solutions based on science based sustainability models and quantification tools supporting the construction value chain. David has completed over 300 life cycle based eco-efficiency analyses on concrete mixture designs for applications from residential driveways to iconic structures including the highly recognized One World Trade Center in New York.  He has also completed numerous product specific Environmental Product Declarations for concrete solutions in the US, Canada and Mexico and manages the Construction Chemicals material transparency program for LEED v4 and Living Building Challenge compliance.

David is and has been actively involved on various sustainability committees with ASTM, USGBC and ACC. He has over 25 years of engineering, manufacturing and operations management experience in numerous industries from raw material processing to consumer goods production.  He has also supported projects for LEED EBOM and NC certification and is accredited by the Green Building Certification Institute and certified as a Green Globes Professional.
