Mr. Ericson is an independent Technical Consultant in North America specializing in Fiber Reinforced Concrete (FRC) and Fiber Reinforced Polymer (FRP) systems. Since 1988, Mr. Ericson has been introducing new reinforcing technology in precast concrete construction systems. He is known for expertise in emulative detailing using the NMB Splice-Sleeve® System. Previous experience includes New England Regional Marketing Director for the Precast/Prestressed Concrete Institute, San-Vel Concrete Corporation and Unistress Corp.
He has a Master of Business Administration (1985) from Northeastern University in Boston and a Bachelor of Science in Art and Design (1977) with dual concentrations in Architectural Design & Building Technology from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology in Cambridge. He is Past-President of the New England Chapter of the American Concrete Institute and the Metropolitan Chapter of the Massachusetts Society of Professional Engineers. He is Past-Chairman of the Structural Group of the Boston Society of Civil Engineers Section of ASCE.
He is a Fellow of both the American Concrete Institute (ACI) and Precast/Prestressed Concrete Institute (PCI). Mr. Ericson is currently the Chair of the PCI FRP Committee and Past Co-Chair of the PCI Blast Resistance & Structural Integrity Committee, Continuing Education and Student Education Committees (ex-officio member of the Board of Directors). He has served on the Seismic and Erectors Committees. He is also a voting member ACI Committee 550 (Precast Concrete, chaired sub-group on Emulation Detailing), 380 (Structural Plain Concrete), 544-A (FRC Production & Applications), 440-K (FRP Material Characteristics) and an associate member of Committee 551 (Tilt-Up), and 370 (Blast & Impact Load Effects).
