Dylan James


Krahn Engineering Ltd.

Dylan James, P.Eng., is a structural engineer at Krahn Engineering Ltd., a key division of the Krahn Group of Companies in British Columbia. A 2017 graduate of the British Columbia Institute of Technology, Dylan transitioned from welding and steel erecting to structural engineering, quickly developing expertise in tilt-up and structural steel design. He is a founding board member of TILT (Tilt-Up Industry Leaders of Tomorrow) and serves on the Tilt-Up Concrete Association’s Canadian Advisory Board, where he advocates for innovation, quality, and technical advancement in the industry. Dylan’s practical background, paired with his engineering experience, gives him a unique ability to bridge design and construction, delivering effective and buildable solutions for complex projects.

Founded in 1986, the Tilt-Up Concrete Association (TCA) strives to improve the quality and acceptance of site-cast Tilt-Up construction - one of the fastest growing industries in the United States, combining the advantages of reasonable cost with low maintenance, durability, speed of construction and minimal capital investment. Over 10,000 buildings, enclosing more than 650 million square feet, are constructed each year using this construction method.
