Tom Liu is the senior project engineer form Miyamoto International. He has a Bachelor of Science in Architectural Engineering from Cal Poly San Luis Obispo. He focused on tilt-up projects intensively since he first started working as structural engineer. Tom has performed structural design for new tilt-up buildings totaling over 20,000,000 square feet throughout the United States. As he practiced structural engineering in the west coast region with high seismic hazard zone, he is specialized in the seismic design and retrofit of tilt up buildings. His tilt-up project experience includes multi-story tilt-up buildings, medical office buildings, million-square-foot warehouses with multi-story work platform, built-to-suit building and seismic retrofit of existing tilt up buildings. His experience also includes design on commercial, residential, retail, tenant improvement, and hospital (OSHPD) with various building materials such as steel, concrete, timber, masonry and light gauge steel.
