Tilt-up panels represent a significant portion of a building’s material and performance profile, creating opportunities to evaluate sustainability throughout multiple stages of project delivery. This session examines how early coordination among owners, designers, contractors, and material suppliers can support more sustainable decisions without introducing unnecessary cost or complexity. Attendees will explore strategies related to performance-based specifications, operational energy performance, embodied carbon reduction, and the aesthetic implications of material selection, while also considering efficiencies within the broader tilt-up construction process. The discussion emphasizes an integrated approach to sustainability that aligns environmental performance with practical and achievable project outcomes.
