One of the most remarkable engineering projects underway in North America serves as the focus of this special Friday experience. Join members of the project team on location for an in-depth presentation exploring the restoration and seismic upgrade of the historic Salt Lake Temple. Learn how engineers and constructors developed and installed a state-of-the-art base isolation system beneath the 1893 structure, preserving one of the world's most recognized religious landmarks while preparing it to withstand future seismic events. The presentation will also examine how lessons from the project are informing future construction initiatives, including the evaluation of tilt-up construction for temples and other specialized facilities by The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Following the presentation, attendees are invited to continue exploring downtown Salt Lake City through a self-guided walking tour of Temple Square and the surrounding civic and cultural district.

Pictured during an earlier phase of construction, the Salt Lake Temple restoration has since achieved significant progress, including completion of its seismic base isolation system. Attendees will hear directly from the project team about the latest advancements and the path toward the temple's anticipated reopening in 2027.
