TCA Tilt-Up Technician/Supervisor Review Seminar

The Tilt-Up Supervisor and Technician Certification Program is a collaborative effort between the American Concrete Institute (ACI) and the Tilt-Up Concrete Association (TCA). This seminar will present the topics and information necessary for candidates sitting for the Tilt-Up Supervisor Certification Exam. The seminar will also present an overview of the tilt-up construction process and explain the certification program and its requirements.

LEARNING OBJECTIVES

• Describe the ACI Technician/Supervisor certification process, responsibilities and terminology.

• Summarize issues of safety, plan reading, site preparation, scheduling, foundations, slabs-on-grade, layout, forming, placement and erection of tilt-up walls.

• Recognize factors that affect performance of concrete for tilt-up panels including aggregates, colored and special cement, admixtures and mix proportioning.

• Demonstrate knowledge of basic concrete technology by completing study questions.
