An investigation into the interplay of local materials and form, this project examines the inherent qualities of soil and rock as formative elements in tilt-up concrete construction. Inspired by Arizona’s geological processes, the work seeks to evoke erosion and light, reframing the structural and aesthetic capacities of tilt-up through an exploration of its latent potential.
A reduced-scale test, this mock-up serves as a provisional study where material responses and formal interactions are examined. Insights gained here will inform and refine the final construction, allowing the project to evolve through iterative exploration.
