In markets where specialized supply chains and experienced contractor networks are limited, the implementation of tilt-up construction requires a different operational framework. This session examines the development of tilt-up in Brazil over the past 25 years, where structural engineers have assumed expanded roles across design, detailing, coordination, and field guidance to support successful project delivery. Drawing from a large body of completed work, the presentation explores how engineering-led processes, BIM-based detailing, and customized analytical tools have enabled consistent execution in a highly cost-sensitive environment. The discussion highlights practical strategies for adapting tilt-up systems to emerging markets, overcoming resource constraints, and establishing scalable workflows that support broader global adoption.
