The Tilt-Up Concrete Association’s new collaborative for young professionals, Tilt-Up Industry Leaders of Tomorrow (TILT), has elected Michael Frew with Citadel Contractors, Inc., as its first president along with a slate of officers and directors.

An architect for Citadel Contractors, Inc., and a “Top 50 Tilt-Up Industry Influencer,” Frew has worked in the tilt-up industry for over eight years. As a part of Citadel’s design-build team, Michael leads the tilt-up design department. His responsibilities include initial building design, structural documentation, and panel detailing. He has experience with many different building types, including multistory office buildings, schools, theaters, and medical office buildings. Throughout his time at Citadel, Michael has expanded their use of BIM as a powerful tool for collaboration and coordination.

“Since our 2019 inception, TILT has seen a great deal of growth in industry involvement and young professional engagement,” said Frew. “With this growth, our leaders identified a need to define a membership structure with a Board of Directors. Made up of nominated members, these dedicated directors have been essential in constructing TILT’s current and future success. As a member of this group, I see the passion that drives these individuals to advance the tilt-up industry. It is an honor to serve as TILT’s first president and work side by side with this team. Our Work Day event has already found early success, and I believe there is much more to come this year!”
