ONWARD

As I mentioned in my last letter, construction innovation has been on my mind this year, and in that piece, I challenged everyone to explore innovative ways for the TCA to promote new products and services. I am happy to report that last month’s annual TCA Convention and Expo in Atlanta demonstrated a commitment to those very challenges.
I am extremely proud that our Convention continues to provide a tremendous platform for sharing best practices and innovations. I was constantly witnessing our members making the most of that opportunity in Atlanta. The exhibits and the outdoor demo event featured scores of great products and services; and I heard a number of engaging presentations from designers, contractors, and global associates sharing a variety of informative advice, tips, and tricks to successfully tackle issues that impact us all.
Most importantly, I overheard a tremendous amount of conversations that indicated partnerships and teamwork in the community at the show. This type of collaboration and sharing of best practices is what makes our association so unique. Nowhere else would you find a community so focused on safety, quality, and the continued advancement of this construction method.
As we move on from another successful show, my challenge is for all of us to think of ways to improve next year’s Convention in Saint Louis. It will not be easy. I heard from attendees, time and time again, that this was the best show the TCA has put on, especially the Awards Gala.
Those rave reviews are a testament to the vision and the hard work of our immensely talented TCA staff led by Mitch Bloomquist and Jim Baty, and their work is only possible through the participation and commitment of our members.
Together, I am positive that our leaders and members will continue to lead us forward through the challenges and opportunities we will be tackling in 2020.
