James M Williams, past executive board member of the TCA, has been selected to serve as a member of the AIA Codes and Standards Committee. The AIA has 90,000 members and 260 chapters world-wide. The AIA Codes and Standards Committee has 10 members, each serving 3-year terms. The AIA helps to develop building codes that make the built environment and communities safer, more resilient, and that encourage business growth as well as protecting the environment. The committee provides advocacy initiatives for the AIA including, but not limited to; building research information, energy efficiency, accessibility, and code adoption and education.
