From the Corporate Headquarters in West Hartford, Connecticut, Kim Corwin, President of A.H. Harris & Sons, Inc., announced the promotion of Alex Rapp, formerly the company’s Director of Operations, to the position of Vice President of Operations. In her August 1 announcement, Ms. Corwin stated, “Alex has been an asset to the team, providing insight and guidance to improving our operational performance on multiple levels.” Mr. Rapp is responsible for the 40-plus regional branch sales offices that currently form the Harris network as well as two forming and shoring facilities.

Alex Rapp joined the Harris organization in April 2010 as Director of Sourcing and Supply Chain Management. In this role, he transitioned the growing organization from a central distribution model to a regional hub and spoke model. The team also improved upon the purchasing and replenishment procedures utilizing the new ERP system implemented a few years ago. The changes resulted in higher inventory availability and regional stocking programs. In 2011 Alex assumed the role of Director of Operations. He has been instrumental in streamlining the operations of the forming and shoring yards and in implementing safety and best practices across the organization. Prior to joining Harris, Alex worked for PricewaterhouseCoopers, General Electric and HD Supply White Cap in various roles ranging from Forensic Accounting, Risk Management, Six Sigma / LEAN Process Improvement to Acquisition Integrations.
