West Hartford, CT – A.H. Harris and Barker Steel have entered into an agreement, whereby A.H. Harris will assume Barker’s Westfield, MA and Queens, NY facilities. The agreement is based on Barker’s decision to exit the Building Materials Distribution & Forming and Shoring Rental Business and focus on rebar and rebar fabrication only. Their rebar fabrication facilities will remain open.

A.H. Harris has acquired all forming and shoring equipment as well as the building materials inventory for all 7 Barker Building Materials locations.

The restructuring will allow both parties to continue to do what they do best.

The additional locations and increased rental equipment affords Harris the opportunity to better serve customers’ needs. According to Kimberly Corwin, A.H. Harris President, “This is an excellent opportunity for Harris to continue to expand our footprint and our product offering.”
