DAYTON, OHIO | January 24, 2012: Dayton Superior announces the addition of two lithium-based products to their construction chemical portfolio of product solutions. Pentra-Hard^® Densifier and Pentra-Hard^® Finish are concrete floor treatments that utilize technologically advanced and patented Nano Lithium™ technology.

The Pentra-Hard Densifier is used to harden and dust-proof new and existing concrete. When sprayed onto concrete, the water-based solution penetrates into the concrete and reacts with free calcium to form insoluble calcium silica hydrate, making the concrete more resistant to water, stains and abrasions and providing for easier maintenance over the life of the concrete surface. Pentra-Hard Densifier can also be used in concrete polishing procedures, prolonging the life of polished finishes. The product is VOC compliant in all areas of the world.

The Pentra-Hard Finish is a high-gloss, stain and wear-resistant finish for improving the sheen, hardness and chemical resistance of conventional concrete, hardened concrete and/or cement based floors. A water-based, lithium-fortified Pentra-Hard Finish dries to a clear, extremely hard, micro-coating that bonds and reacts with the substrate, forming an insoluble bond with the surface. It will not lift or peel from the surface and like the Pentra-Hard Densifier, Pentra-Hard Finish is VOC compliant throughout the world.

The Nano Lithium technology used in Pentra-Hard Densifier and Pentra-Hard Finish represents the latest innovations in construction chemical development. Both products contain lithium silicate molecules and a pH level near that of concrete. This allows the Pentra-Hard products to produce a milder chemical reaction and prevents expansion during curing unlike similar products typically containing potassium or sodium silicate molecules.
