TCA Annual Meeting and Awards Breakfast

On January 25th, TCA held its Annual Meeting and Awards breakfast at the Las Vegas Hilton. Ed Sauter, TCA Executive Director, announced the significant achievements of 2006 and laid out the goals for 2007. Outgoing TCA president Laurence Smith addressed the audience and was applauded for his service to the Association. He then handed off the presidential duties to David Tomasula, the incoming TCA president.

There were two keynote speakers, who presented on new educational programs that prepare students for careers in the Tilt-Up industry. Dr. Heather Brown, of the Concrete Industry Management (CIM) program at Middle Tennessee State University, outlined the details of the CIM program and the increases in enrollment over the past several years. Kimberly Kramer, of Kansas State University, discussed courses that she has developed specifically for educating students about Tilt- Up, in order to prepare them for positions with companies once they enter the workforce. These courses are also available as continuing education for current Tilt-Up professionals.

Kimberly Kayler, of Constructive Communication, Inc., updated the audience as to all of the public relations efforts that the TCA has accomplished in 2006. She then presented Ed Sauter with the “Association of Marketing & Communication Professionals Gold Award” for the 2006 Tilt-Up Achievement Awards marketing campaign.

The event concluded with the presentation of Awards video, which features this year’s winning projects. If you are interested in obtaining a copy of the video to use in your marketing efforts, please contact Ben Saltzman at bsaltzman@tilt-up.org.
