Marathon Petroleum Corporation Central Control Building

The 68,000-square-foot, three-story Central Control Building was constructed as the cornerstone of the company's safety program and is the control facility for every processing unit at the Texas City Plant Site. The walls facing the refinery are 12-inch-thick concrete with two layers of rebar to create blast-resistance capacity. The building's curviliear appearance, constructed of straight wall segments, helps avoid building over the 138 kVA electrical duct bank and adds architectural interest.
