Rooms To Go Distribution & Retail Center
This building features large spandrels at the retail center and office entrances. It was necessary to vertically lower the spandrels into their final position, as the panels that supported them featured 8-inch wide slots to keep the spandrels permanently in place rather than welded connections. Most of the spandrels are 57-feet long with the longest at 75-feet and 3.75-inches. The longest spandrel was a cantilevered member that is supported by a panel on only one end since it formed a corner of the building with another spandrel. Seretta designed a temporary footing and steel column to support this spandrel until the permanent steel connection could be made. The entrance also features in laid letters in the panels marking the "entrance" to the retail center.
