Event information coming soon

Miami, Florida
Fontainebleau Miami Beach

Hot, Hot, Hot

South Florida has long been a hotbed for tilt-up innovation and remains one of the country's hottest tilt-up markets. In September it will host the TCA 2017 International Tilt-Up Convention & Expo, presented by HD Supply Construction & Industrial White Cap and Meadow Burke. Join us at the historic Fontainebleau hotel for three days of tilt-up education, exhibits, demonstrations, tours, awards and networking.

The 2017 Tilt-Up Convention and Expo is the premier gathering of the global tilt-up industry.  As always, this year's event is designed to provide attendees with valuable education that can be applied directly to their next tilt-up job.

Post-event surveys show 92% of attendees estimate they will save their company or clients at least $2,000 on their next project as a direct result of their attendance. 35% of respondents say they will save at least $5,000 and 17% say they will save more than $10,000 on their next project alone. Most importantly, well over 90% of attendees say they learned something at convention that will make their jobsite, or that of their client, safer.

“If you do not learn something at Convention that will at least save you the cost of attendance on your next job, you were not listening!”

- Laurence Smith, JW Lindsay

Participation in this important industry event also ensures effective utilization of the greatest, and most diverse network of tilt-up professionals on the planet. The connections made between attendees prove to be very beneficial. Post-event surveys conclude that 67% of participants make new connections that will help them grow professionally, 60% make new connections that their company or firm may collaborate with on future projects, and 73% make connections that could help troubleshoot issues on their next project.

Tilt-Up Buildings Tour

The Miami area is home to some of the world's most impressive tilt-up projects. So much so, that we need a full day to explore. On the tour, various building types will be featured including an entertainment complex, office building, museum, church, hotel dormitory and more. The tour, sponsored by Owens Corning, will also include a look at the world's tallest tilt-up panel.

The tour will be splint into two parts with busses leaving the Fontainebleau at various times for those not arriving until later in the day.

Tilt-Up 101

Convention 2017 will again feature a series of seminars and events covering the basics of the tilt-up building system. The workshop, sponsored by HD Supply Construction & Industrial White Cap, will provide those contractors and design professionals unfamiliar with system, or those looking to firm up their comprehension, an in-depth base of knowledge to build upon. Tilt-Up 101 will also serve as a preparatory course for those taking the ACI/TCA Tilt-Up Supervisor Exam.

Education

One of the great advantages of active involvement with the Tilt-Up Concrete Association is the opportunity for discourse across disciplines (architecture, engineering, construction, supply). This year's education program features talks bringing together these sometimes divergent interests to highlight common issues, shared responsibilities, and opportunities for increased collaboration. Additionally, series of focused talks for designers and contractors will dive deeper into topics specific to each.

The education program is proudly sponsored by Dayton SuperiorConstruction Materials, Inc. and Seretta Construction.

International Reception

International attendees are invited to join the TCA Board of Directors for a special reception on Saturday evening, September 30 at Fontainebleau's La Côte rooftop. Nestled between the hotel's iconic pool and gorgeous views of the Atlantic Ocean, La Côte evokes the glamorous feel of the French Riviera and has been a go-to for locals in the know and hotel guests alike.

About the TCA

Founded in 1986, the Tilt-Up Concrete Association (TCA) strives to improve the quality and acceptance of site-cast Tilt-Up construction, a method in which concrete wall panels are cast on-site and tilted into place. Tilt-Up construction is one of the fastest growing industries in the United States, combining the advantages of reasonable cost with low maintenance, durability, speed of construction and minimal capital investment. At least 10,000 buildings, enclosing more than 650 million square feet, are constructed each year using this construction method.
