2016 TCA Convention

2015 David L. Kelly Distinguished Engineer Award recipient John G. Hart, PE, SE, President of Peak Engineering, Inc., graduated from Purdue University in West Lafayette, Indiana with a B.S. in Civil Engineering.

Hart moved to Colorado and joined Peak in 1997 and immediately started learning about tilt-up design.  He designed some of the first three-story tilt-up buildings in the Denver area and developed the tools for single-story and multi-story tilt-up design used at Peak as they expanded to become the leading tilt-up design firm in the area.

He has designed significant tilt-up structures from coast to coast, working with owners, architects and local contractors to improve detailing that suit the regional markets

Hart is an active member of the ACI 551 Tilt-Up Concrete Committee, the Tilt-up Concrete Association Technical Committee, and the Structural Engineers Association of Colorado.

About the TCA

Founded in 1986, the Tilt-Up Concrete Association (TCA) strives to improve the quality and acceptance of site-cast Tilt-Up construction, a method in which concrete wall panels are cast on-site and tilted into place. Tilt-Up construction is one of the fastest growing industries in the United States, combining the advantages of reasonable cost with low maintenance, durability, speed of construction and minimal capital investment. At least 10,000 buildings, enclosing more than 650 million square feet, are constructed each year using this construction method.
