ACI/TCA Tilt-Up Supervisor Certification Exam

May 13, 2014
11:30 am - 1:30 pm
Sam Houston Raceway Park, Houston, TX

The Tilt-Up Supervisor and Technician Certification Program is a collaborative effort between the American Concrete Institute (ACI) and the Tilt-Up Concrete Association (TCA).

  • Tilt-Up Supervisor - A Tilt-Up Supervisor is a person who has demonstrated proficiency in and an understanding of overall on-site administrative and technical management for producing Tilt-Up projects by passing the ACI written examination and meeting work experience requirements. ACI will grant certification only to those applicants who obtain a passing grade on the written examination, possess five years (7,500 hours) of verifiable construction experience, three years (4,500 hours) of which must be experience in Tilt-Up construction.
  • Tilt-Up Technician - A Tilt-Up Technician is a person who has an understanding of overall on-site administrative and technical management for producing Tilt-Up projects by passing the ACI written examination, but who lacks sufficient work experience to qualify as a Tilt-Up supervisor. ACI will grant certification to those applicants who pass the written examination but do not possess the necessary work experience to be granted full Tilt-Up Supervisor certification.
  • Re-Certification - Re-certification is necessary every five (5) years, and requires successful completion of a written examination or qualifying continuing education hours. Continuing education hours are approved by TCA and ACI. Pre-approved credits can be acquired at the TCA Annual Convention, ACI Convention, World of Concrete and other industry events.

The seminar and exam will be offered in both English and Spanish.

About the TCA

Founded in 1986, the Tilt-Up Concrete Association (TCA) strives to improve the quality and acceptance of site-cast Tilt-Up construction, a method in which concrete wall panels are cast on-site and tilted into place. Tilt-Up construction is one of the fastest growing industries in the United States, combining the advantages of reasonable cost with low maintenance, durability, speed of construction and minimal capital investment. At least 10,000 buildings, enclosing more than 650 million square feet, are constructed each year using this construction method.
